Dance

Dance generally refers to movement used as a form of expression, social interaction or presented in a spiritual or performance setting.

   - Morris dancing in the grounds of Wells Cathedral, Wells, England

Dance is also used to describe methods of non-verbal communication (see body language) between humans or animals (bee dance, patterns of behaviour such as a mating dance), motion in inanimate objects (the leaves danced in the wind), and certain musical forms or genres.

Music

Music is an art form that involves what are sometimes organised sounds and silence, although in some forms of 20th century aleatoric, and indeed improvisational music, as well as most Eastern traditions such as Gamelou, this is not the case. Music may also involve generative forms in time through the construction of patterns and combinations of natural stimuli, principally sound. Music may be used for artistic or aesthetic, communicative, entertainment, ceremonial or religious purposes and by many composers purly as an academic instrument for study.
